3,000 Years of Healing. A Lifetime of Change.

Long before modern pharmaceuticals, Traditional Chinese Medicine transformed millions of lives through natural balance. Today in America, acupuncture continues that legacy—offering drug-free pain relief, deep nervous system peace, and true healing from the inside out.

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a safe, time-tested therapy that involves inserting very thin, single-use sterile needles into specific points on the body. These points—commonly located along the back, neck, head, and limbs—are stimulated to trigger your body’s natural healing response and restore physical balance.

What Conditions Can Be Treated with Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an evidence-informed integrative therapy designed to relieve pain, promote systemic recovery, and optimize overall wellness. By targeting specific neuromuscular trigger points and modulating autonomic pathways, it encourages natural healing and physiological balance.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) recognize acupuncture as a safe, effective primary or complementary approach for dozens of acute and chronic health concerns:

Musculoskeletal & Pain Management

  • Spine & Nerve Pain: Acute/chronic low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction.

  • Joints & Tendons: Osteoarthritis (knee, hip, hand), joint stiffness, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, and acute sports injuries.

  • Specialized & Complex Pain: Myofascial pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, and supportive care for cancer-related pain.

Neurological & Mental Health

  • Headaches & Nerves: Tension headaches, chronic migraines, and peripheral neuropathy.

  • Emotional & Neurological Support: Anxiety, depression, chronic insomnia, PTSD, chronic fatigue, and smoking cessation/addiction support.

Digestive & Systemic Health

  • Gastrointestinal Function: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), GERD, gastritis, chronic constipation, and diarrhea.

  • Oncology & Treatment Support: Relief for chemotherapy-induced nausea and radiation-related side effects.

  • Metabolic Wellness: Metabolic support and functional gut balancing.

Respiratory & Immune Support

  • Airway & Seasonal Health: Asthma, seasonal allergic rhinitis, and chronic sinusitis.

  • Immune Function: Recurrent sore throat, frequent colds, and general immune fortification.

Women’s Health & Reproductive Care

  • Hormonal & Cycle Support: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), dysmenorrhea (painful cramps), PMS, and hormonal imbalances.

  • Reproductive & Menopausal Health: Reproductive and fertility support, alongside relief for menopausal hot flashes and night sweats.

How Does It Work?

Acupuncture works by stimulating specific points on the body to trigger your nervous, endrocrine, and immune systems. This gentle stimulation helps your body:

  • Release Natural Painkillers: Triggers the release of endorphins, enkephalins, and serotonin to block pain signals naturally.

  • Improve Circulation & Reduce Inflammation: Enhances local blood flow and regulates inflammatory markers to accelerate tissue recovery.

  • Relax Tight Muscles & Calm the Mind: Down-regulates the sympathetic (“fight-or-flight”) response, easing muscle tension and encouraging deep relaxation.

  • Restore Energetic & Physical Balance: Regulates autonomic functions to help your body regain its natural internal equilibrium.

What to Expect During Your First Visit

Your first appointment is designed to be thorough, relaxing, and completely tailored to your unique needs.

How to Prepare Before You Arrive

  • Eat a Light Snack or Meal: Make sure to eat something within a few hours before your appointment—never receive acupuncture on an empty stomach.

  • Get Good Rest: Try to be well-rested so your body can respond effectively to treatment.

  • Wear Loose, Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothes (such as pants that roll up easily past the knees or sleeves that pull above the elbows) so treatment areas can be comfortably accessed.

Your Session Step-by-Step

  • 1. Initial Consultation & Custom Plan (First 15 Minutes)

We begin with a detailed 15-minute consultation to review your complete health history, main concerns, and personal goals. During this time, we will also discuss your tailored treatment plan—outlining the recommended frequency of visits based on your specific condition—so you know exactly what to expect before care begins.

  • 2. Gentle Acupuncture Treatment (About 30 Minutes)

Next, you’ll relax on a comfortable treatment table as single-use, hair-thin sterile needles are gently placed. The needles remain in place for about 30 minutes while you rest quietly. Most patients feel little to no discomfort and enter a state of deep relaxation—many even fall asleep.

  • 3. Post-Treatment Rest & Check-Out

Once the needles are removed, you’ll take a moment to gently awaken and transition back to your day, leaving your session feeling grounded and refreshed.
